Except for the glitter the logs look very realistic. It's nice to have a glow in the fireplace when you don't want to have all the heat that an artificial fireplace puts out.

we live in texas, and my husband loves to have fires going. this isn't practical in the summer texas heat, so this allows us to get a nice glow in the fireplace in the middle of summer

It's a fun product that doesn't look especially realistic, but serves its purpose as something "flickering" in the fireplace without the mess or hassle of a real fire.
