Comments about Napoleon Prestige II Gas Grill PT600RBI:
O.K. so you have come far enough along to read this review, that means you are considering some type of upper end grill. Now just like the rest of us you ask yourself, what to buy??? how much do I really want to spend ??? Having previously owned a [$] Broilmaster P3S I was looking for the same qualities in my new grill. Heavy gauge S/S burners, S/S cooking grates and that overall sturdy well put together look and feel. After narrowing my search to a Fire Magic Aurora and the Nap Prestige II, dollars or should I say sense came into play and I went with the Nap. O.K. so enough intro lets get to the grill.First off the entire 'guts' of the grill head are all heavy gauge 300 grade stainless steel. The three main burners are positioned front to back and are protected by S/S sear plates that catch all the drippings and burn them off with the smoke going straight back into whatever you are cooking. The right hand bay is equiped with Naps patented ceramic Infra-Red 'Sizzle Zone' with its own control knob and reaches temps of 1500 F. The rear or rotiseree burner is also Infra-Red and the grill comes with a heavy duty spit and motor. The grease management system is also useful as you have a large angled tray under the burners which deposits all drippings into a small removable pan. This monster puts out about 82,000 BTU's full out so either hook into your main gas supply or have a few tanks on hand. All in all the grill cooks as even as you could imagine and with the wide selection of burners grilling, off heat or smoking is possible. You also get a generous warming rack that stays out of your way and can hold enough hot dog and ham buns for a small army.As for the rest of the grill the side burner comes in handy and I suggest it since another [$] at this point is peanuts. The cart is S/S and is for the most part sturdy. The doors are thin but do look nice and you cant tell they are cheap unless you touch them. The roll top lid is nice but I just dont see the big savings on room.Bottom line- If you want a serious grill that will last until you have great grand children and you want some bells and whistles ie. 'Infra-Red' then this is the grill for you. Happy Grilling!!
