Hudson River Stove Works:

It all started in 1973, Bob Cohen started a woodstove distribution company in his family garage. He called it BAC Sales after his wife, Barbara Ann Cohen. The first stove brand they sold was Better n Bens' made in Unionville CT. After years of calling on woodstove shops and working long hours Bob and Barbara grew BAC Sales to employ 55 people and 60,000 ft2 of warehouse space. From 1992 to 2003 their son, Jack Cohen sold more than 2700 pellet and wood stoves. He had always wanted to make a better stove and over the years he had always helped his manufacturers to improve their products with real world R&D. Truck Freight Additional Information:

This product is too heavy/large to ship via the small package delivery services (e.g. UPS, FedEx) so it will be sent to you via truck freight. Truck freight is different than standard UPS, FedEx or US Mail in that you will be responsible for carrying the product from the back of the truck into your house (or wherever it's going).

The most important thing to remember about truck freight is that you MUST inspect the package at the time of delivery. If the box has any damage, or if there is any reason for you to be at all concerned about damage, please write "PRODUCT DAMAGED" clearly on the sheet that they ask you to sign. This simply insures that if there is any damage, it will be easy to take care of the problem.

If you are ordering a very large item, please keep in mind that you may need a couple of people to help unload it. Alternatively, most truck freight companies offer additional services to help you move items from the truck into your house. Once we email you the tracking information you can contact the shipper directly to inquire about additional services. You would be responsible for directly paying the truck freight carrier for any additional services.

It was great to find a small rear vented wood stove to fit my existing small opened fireplace. I searched for a fireplace insert with the dimensions I needed, but none were to be found. This is the next best thing. Very heavy duty.

Service and delivery comments:

Product was supposed to be shipped in thiry days, but it was delivered within one week! You have to have a pick-up truck or some other option for the freight delivery man to place the stove onto. They can't bring it down to the ground for you, unless you pay extra. They slid it onto my pick-up truck and I ramped it down to the ground and into my house with a hand truck.
